Instrumental Music

I hope this Christmas as you spend it either with festive dancing or mellow lounging, deep in thought watching a fire or deep in flour, baking up a storm, this album can be a little part of the journey through the Christmas season. Love and giving is in the air. Driving fast and running through stores is a modern reality. But if you find yourself out of breath and stumbling into yet another recital or wading through a shopping list still undone, maybe rest a moment to take a breath. Look around you at all the precious gifts that you already have. Things, yes. But more importantly, people. Kids, family, close friends either in location or feeling. Relationships that without them, we would be so poor even if we had millions of dollars.

Give generously. Love graciously. Make peace toward wholeness. Because even though this world is hectic, mean sometimes, selfish, or just plain hard, remember that love is waiting just around the corner, always. Because in all of these storms of life, in a nano second, if we look for it, All can be Calm. In our hearts and in our bank accounts. In our giving, in our receiving. In the joy or in the pain. In laughter or in tears, our hearts yearn for more, for a deep calm to bring meaning to our crazy lives and crazy world.

THANKS

First of all. To Ingrid. My love. You have given me so much over the years together. You give me strength to go on when I am running out of me. When my pain is too great and I think I've lost my desire for all things music and more, you remind me that it's still there. Lurking behind the curtain and that someday, it will return. On centre stage. Just watch! For giving me more space than I feel I deserve and for encouraging me to not to be so hard on myself!  What a love you have for me. For all the support and constant reminders to just keep on. Always. I love you today.

Thank you mom and dad. Dad, if you were here, I know you would be loving the Cello on this one! I'm absolutely sure there's string players and choral groups in Heaven. You both loved me, supported me and always did, looked out for me and most of all, encouraged me. Just like my life growing up, you both wanted to see me thrive and gave me the environment to do it! Thank you for always loving me.

To my late Aunt Marge. Thank you for pushing me and encouraging me, and even going into business with me. A lot of my musical sense for my art came from you and your ability to craft the nuggets of talent I had, and help turn it into an expression of who I have become. Thank you Margie Parge!

Bethany, not only your talent and beautiful voice came though on this album, but you invested your energy and creativity to craft great vocal parts. And sometimes, even trying to go a bit ear bending far! Maybe on the next album of edgy jazz ethereal weirdness we can go there!

Thank you Kelsey for your  sensitivity to me and what I might be going through. I always feel loved and supported. Your higher vocals made the texture of the songs soar but just the right amount. You always give of your heart.

Thanks Dean so much for your musical insight and oversight at the last moment to save me from myself! To challenge me to defend my decisions and let me go off the cliff if that's what I need! Your talent and friendship are amazing.

Luke. Thanks for trying something new! I love your style and no matter what you put your talent to, it will be amazing!

Thanks Larry again so many years later to be doing what we did in the 90’s! Ouch that hurts but in a good way. You made these tracks come alive. Again!

Kelly, that you for getting back into your instrument on this album. I just love the special sound that you give to the tracks. So great to work with. Can’t wait till the next time.

Hey Jeff. Ever since…back then, we’ve been able to just pick up where we left off. With all that we’ve been through in life, it’s so great to lock into the craft of creativity again. We both really need this.

Mike. I see your humility and giving heart shine through this project. You invested fully in the process of subtly! Thank you for your amazing ability to craft sweet tones. From the bottom of my heart, thanks.
